In a move to provide airport-like waiting area to the passengers, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, IRCTC, will open a lounge at the New Delhi railway station by early next year.
The lounge will offer food and beverages, luggage racks, wheel chairs, Wi-Fi connectivity, business centres with phone, fax, laptop facilities and foreign exchange counters.
Informing this in New Delhi, the PRO of IRCTC, Pradeep Khandu said that there will also be a separate private dining area, apart from a common dinning space, for families or groups. He said that in the lounge passengers can freshen up, change, have buffet meals, shop book tickets and hotel rooms.
The facility will also be available for both AC and non-AC passengers. Our correspondent reports that similar lounges are expected to come up at Howrah, Chennai and Mumbai Central stations soon.
