The Home Ministry has put Air India and all other planes operating in the South Asian region, on high security alert. This follows intelligence inputs that Pakistan based LeT and other terrorist groups are planning to hijack a flight from the region. Special Secretary, Internal Security, U.K. Bansal said in New Delhi, that the alert has been issued after intelligence inputs from western agencies. <br/>AIR correspondent reports that mandatory secondary checks on all operating aircrafts are being started following the alert, and sky marshalls being deployed on flights.
