The Prasar Bharti has decided to set up five regional archives for All India Radio and Doordarshan to preserve local valuable broadcast material. Giving this information on the sidelines of the Social and Digital Media Summit of Eastern India in Kolkata this morning, the CEO Prasar Bharti Jawhar Sircar said that a separate division will be set up to deal with all archives related works.
Mr. Sircar informed that the centre has given 620 crore rupees for digitalisation of All India Radio and Doordarshan broadcast and the task is expected to be completed by next three years. He said that the Prasar Bharti is fully prepared to meet the target set by the government for digitalised broadcast in four metro cities from 1st of July.
