Air traffic growth in India may decline 2.5 % in 2012-2013

Domestic think-tank, Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, CMIE, in its report has said that air traffic growth in India may decline 2.5 percent in 2012-2013 fiscal. The think-tank said that the traffic is being impacted by higher fares, grounding of Kingfisher Airlines and overall subdued consumer sentiment.It said that they expect total passenger traffic to decline by 3.2 percent, year-on-year, in the second half of this fiscal. Whereas, in 2012-13 as a whole, the passenger traffic growth is expected to fall by 2.5 percent.
