In Pakistan, at least 11 militants were killed in bombardment by jet fighters at the hideouts of the militants in South Waziristan tribal agency today. The private TV channel Express said jet fighters of the security forces targeted suspected hideouts of the militants in Makeen area killing five militants. In another air raid in Brond area six militants were killed. Meanwhile, around 90,000 persons fleeing from Waziristan ahead of an imminent military operation against the militants have reached nearby Dera Ismail Khan and Tank districts. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said the decision for launching a military operation in South Waziristan had been taken in principle and it would be launched after preparations of field commanders.
