All India Radio has recorded gradual growth in its revenue in the recent years. During the year 2015- 16, it had earned around 448 crore rupees as compared to over 435 crore rupees in 2014-15. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said, the AIR had earned over 367 crore rupees in the year 2013- 14. <br/><br/>He, however, said the operational cost of Doordarshan and AIR is going up as a result of increase in the cost of different inputs mainly on account of recent recruitment in various categories of technical and non-technical staff. Mr. Naidu also said the revenue of DD has declined in 2015-16 as compared to 2014-15.
