AIR launches 24×7 classical music channel 'Ragam' in Bengaluru

All India Radio launched a twenty four into seven music channel, Raagam, at a function in Bengaluru today. While inaugurating the channel Prasar Bharati Chairman Dr. A. Suryaprakash said that All India Radio is the cream of mass media with its dissemination of educational and entertainment programmes. He said with the new channel AIR is going to serve a global audience by expanding its horizons.<br/><br/>Dr.K.Radhakrishnan Ex.Chairman of ISRO said that it's a historic day and the beginning of a golden era for music lovers across the globe. AIR Director General Sri. F.Sheheryar, Infosys Foundation Chairperson Dr. Sudha Murthy,Sri. Animesh Charkraborty, Engineer in Chief AIR also were present on the occasion.<br/><br/>RAAGAM' will be in Public Domain round the clock with Mobile App, 'All India Radio Live which is available in Android I OS and Windows from 6 PM today. It is also available in the website www. all india radio.gov.in and www.airbengaluru.com. It will broadcast both Hindustani and Carnatic classical music.<br/><br/>It will be uplinked from AIR, Bengaluru and will continuously get Software contributions from 13 other Stations of AIR spread across the country.
