Air India begins international flights to US & Europe

Air India on Wednesday began international operations to the US and Europe as part of its contingency plan to normalise the situation . Air India spokesman told AIR that the national carrier has curtailed and clubbed many of its flights to the United States of America and Europe as part of its contingency plan to stabilise its international operations. He said that contingency plan will be fully operational by 20th of this month. This, he said is being implemented with the help of executive pilots. He also informed that domestic flights and some international flights to the destinations such as Singapore and Dubai are absolutely normal. The spokesman said bookings for our ultra-long flights, which have been suspended till tomorrow may be opened if situation permits.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation has already initiated action against Air India pilots who have falsely reported sick and not resumed work. It has issued show cause notices to erring pilots. Today was the 9th day of strike of Pilots associated with India Pilots Guild.
