Srinath Reddy, President, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and former Head of the Department of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said in an exclusive interview to AIR News about the reasons for the spread of Delta variant of Covid-19 in some parts of the world.<br />”<br />”Dr. Reddy said, Russia and Britain are witnessing the re-emergence of COVID, as they have vaccinated the population much before the spread of the Delta variant and the immunity gained became ineffective against the new variant.<br />”<br />”But in India, as it happened simultaneously, vaccination provided immunity to the population and infection too gave immunity and hence the spread did not happen. But, people should be ever vigilant against the virus and should religiously follow the COVID Appropriate Behaviour.</span><br />
