AIIMS wins first prize for sanitation & hygiene under Kayakalp awards

Election Commission has found bribery remarks of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar as violation of model code of conduct and asked him to be careful in the future. In its order, the Commission said all leaders especially those who occupy high constitutional positions are expected to ensure and promote sanctity of electoral process. <br/><br/>It said the public utterances by such persons, even remotely giving indication of condoning act of bribe in connection with election, are not acceptable. <br/><br/>Earlier, the poll body had issued notice to Mr. Parrikar following the complaints by AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Goa Forward Party against him. Mr. Parrikar had made remarks asking people to accept money from others but vote for the BJP at a election rally in Goa on 29th of last month.

AIIMS wins first prize for sanitation & hygiene under Kayakalp awards

All India Institute of Medical Science, AIIMS of Delhi has won the first prize and a cash reward of 5 crore rupees for maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene under the Government's Kayakalp awards.<br/><br/>AIIMS was followed by North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Shillong, which got a cash prize of 3 crore rupees. While Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, received the third prize of one crore rupees.<br/><br/>Health Minister J P Nadda yesterday gave away the awards to the winners under various categories in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nadda said, the thrust of Kayakalp is to inculcate culture of cleanliness for gaining the trust and confidence of community in these facilities. The Kayakalp award scheme was launched in 2015.
