AIIMS hands over Jayalalithaa's medical report to TN govt

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, has handed over the report on the five visits made by its team of specialists to provide consultancy to the Apollo Hospital doctors in Chennai on late Jayalalithaa's treatment. <br/><br/>The report was received from the AIIMS administration wing deputy director V Srinivas by the Tamil Nadu health secretary Dr J.Radhakrishnan. The report has been made public by the state government today itself.<br/><br/>Later, addressing the press in New Delhi, Dr Radhakrishnan said the reports are in line with the stand of the state government all along that the former chief minister had been given the best possible treatment that is available in the world in the Apollo Hospital, Chennai since her admission there on September 22. <br/><br/>Saying the AIIMS reports are self-explanatory, Mr Radhakrishnan said it would serve to put to rest what he called wild speculations on the causes of her death to rest. Earlier, in a release, he had referred to the charges made in several quarters that late Jayalalithaa had been administered wrong drugs over a period of time prior to her hospitalization leading to her health complications. <br/><br/>However, he has clarified, medical reports indicate that except for the cortico-steroids administered for skin ailments, she was only taking drugs meant for diabetes and hypertension.

AIIMS hands over Jayalalithaa's medical report to TN govt

AIIMS today handed over the medical report of late former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa to the state government. The report contains the analysis of Jayalalithaa's health condition by the doctors of the premier institute during their five visits to Chennai.<br/><br/>AIIMS Deputy Director Administration V Srinivas said, the state government had yesterday sought the visit notes of the delegation for its official records. He said, on the request of the Tamil Nadu government , AIIMS had deployed a team of senior specialists to visit Chennai five times between October and December last year.<br/><br/>The move assumes significance in the backdrop of doubts being raised from different quarters over the former AIADMK chief's death on 5th December last year.
