AIDMK promises to raise IT exemption limit to Rs.5 lakh in its manifesto for LS elections; offers many other freebies

AIADMK today released its manifesto for the coming Lok Sabha elections. Releasing the manifesto in Chennai, party chief J Jayalalithaa, said, the AIADMK manifesto spells out many policies and promises to implement schemes aimed at development of Tamil Nadu and the whole nation.

The party promises to raise Income Tax exemption limit to five lakh rupees and take away powers of oil marketing companies to determine prices of petrol and diesel, if it comes to power. The manifesto also promises to retrieve Katchatheevu Island ceded to Sri Lanka to protect its fishermen from attacks from Sri Lankan navy.

Reiterating its opposition to the FDI in retail trade, the party in its manifesto said it would take measures to rescind the existing UPA government policy. The party manifesto also proposed to replace the half-baked Food Security Act with a Universal Public Distribution System.
