The All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) will initiate on line approval process for setting up new educational institutions from Sunday. The Council will grant approval to MBA and MCA courses through the distance learning mode. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi the Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal said the new Engineering Institutes will now be permitted to admit upto 300 students and a management institute upto 120 students. <br/><br/>He said management institutions will also have 20 percent flexibility in allocation of seats among different disciplines of post graduate diploma in management. He said the Council has also relaxed the land requirement criteria and a new applicant in a Metro will now need just four acres of land and a mega cities just two and a half acres. <br/><br/>Mr. Sibal launched a new AICTE website and said the process will have no human interference. He asserted that the onus of disclosures will now be on the educational institutions and the approval will be given to any institute only after scrutiny of documents and physical verification of its infrastructure. <br/>
