The All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE will soon launch an academic networking site, along with an in-house job portal and a repository of doctorate papers to check duplication and cheating in research papers. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, the Chairman of AICTE, S S Mantha said the networking site proposes to interconnect over 7 million students enrolled across AICTE-approved institutions. He said the move aims to encourage academic networking and help with course material, share charts, diagrams and projects that can aid learning.

Mr. Mantha said it will also help to check large-scale cheating that are seen in a number of research papers. He said the central database will link up with an industry database of eight thousand stakeholders and help to facilitate the placement process.
