AICTE approves 545 new technical educational institutes

All India Council of Technical Education, AICTE, has given approval to 545 new technical educational institutes to offer professional courses from the current academic session. A decision to this effect was taken by the body in its Executive Council meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. The approval came after the AICTE revamped its system. Official sources said that out of the 545 institutes, nearly 60 per cent are in management, 30 per cent in engineering and the rest in architecture, pharmacy and hotel management. AIR correspondent reports that these institutes can start offering these courses from next month. At present, more than seven thousand technical institutes are offering courses to nearly eight lakh students every year. <br/>
