The two day Chintan Shivir of All India Congress committee has ended in Jaipur dicussing various social, economic and party issues.
Speaking to reporters Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari said there have been repeated demands to give a larger role to Rahul Gandhi. He hoped that it will be done before the 2014 Polls.
AIR Jaipur correspondent Anurag Vajpayi reports that discussion among the delegates were mainly on safety of women, direct cash subsidy and youth leadership. Interms of Women's safety, the demands of the delegates varied from death penalty to rapists and sweeping police reforms, including fifty percent all-women police stations.
After the two day's discussion a draft based on delebrations of group discussion will be reviewed in congress working committee meeting in the evening.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi were present during the group discussions.
He adds that the five groups constituted on emerging socio-economic and political challanges, women empowerment, india and world and organisational matters discussed every aspects of these subjects.
Party leaders introspected weaknesses of organisation and issues related to
alliances. After the chintan Shivir, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari said that Congress will present nine years commendable job and future planning of UPA govt before the public.
He said that social media will also be used to reach to the common people. Minister of State for Home RPN Singh said that the group constitued on
socio-economic challenged discussed the problem in delivery social services and subsidies to the poor people.
Some delegates gave suggestions for better implimentation of subsidy schemes. It was also demanded that alliances should be made with regional parties in the manner that they do not affect the Congress adversly.
It is assumed that all these views will be accomodated in the Jaipur Declration after AICC session tomorrow.
