AIBA Junior Ch'ships, Bulgaria: Teen pugilist Asha Roka enters semis

14-year-old pugilist Asha Roka has entered the semifinals of the AIBA Women's Junior World Boxing Championships in Albena, Bulgaria. Roka defeated Malika Abdi of Algeria in the 48kg category yesterday, to book a last-4 berth. She will take on Assyl Askarova from Kazakhstan in the semifinals. The reigning national champion is the first Indian to make it to the penultimate round of the Championship. Seven other Indian boxers — 3 from the junior group and 4 from youth section — secured their place in the quarterfinals of the event.
