<span style="color: #222222;">The AIADMK coordinator O.Panneerselvam has expressed concerns that a Sri Lankan court has imposed one crore rupees each as the deposit amount for securing bail for a batch of Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu. In a statement in Chennai, he has said, the fishermen are being subjected to tremendous pressure by the continuing arrests and attacks on them. However, he has said, they keep fishing to sustain themselves and their families as that is their only means of livelihood. He has argued that paying one crore rupees each for the bail is impossible for the fishermen. He has also asked the state government to take steps for securing their early release.<br />''<br />'' The case relates to the 12 fishermen from Rameswaram, who were arrested mid-sea by the naval personnel of the island nation on March 24, on charges of trespass. Our Ramanathapuram reporter says their remand has since been extended till May 12th.</span>
