In Puducherry, a day after filling of nominations came to a close for the assembly elections scheduled for the 13th of the next month, the AIADMK today entered into a seat sharing arrangement with the DMDK and CPI. The All India NR congress headed by former Chief Minister Mr. N. Rangaswamy had already reached an understanding with the AIADMK allotting it 13 seats. The Ruling congress party has formed an alliance with DMK, PMK and VCK. The congress is contesting 17 seats, one more than it did in the 2006 elections. The party has alloted 10 seats to the DMK, 2 constituencies to the PMK and one to the VCK.Meanwhile, Senior congress leader and union minister Mr. V. Narayanswamy has appealed to congress functionaries who have filed nominations against the officials candidates to withdraw their papers. Speaking to newsmen in Puducherry, today he said a committee has been formed to pacify dissatisfied functionaries who have been not given tickets.
