AI Plane makes precautionary landing in Pak

An Air India aircraft flying from Abu Dhabi to Delhi with 122 passengers on board, made a precautionary landing at Pakistan's Nawabshah airport this morning. All 122 passengers and 6 members of cabin crew are safe. Air India spokesperson Praveen told All India Radio that the captain of the Airbus aircraft contacted Pakistani authorities and sought permission for landing after detecting the problem with the hydraulic system. The plane landed at Nawabshah airport in southern Sindh province at 3.37 am.

Talking to media persons, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said that Air India is sending an aircraft with technical team from Delhi to Pakistan's Nawabshah. It will also bring back the passengers of the Aircraft. The aircraft is likey to reach Nawabshah airport around 12:30 pm.

Meanwhile,India is in constant touch with its High Commission in Pakistan on the emergency landing made by an Air India plane in that country. Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai is in touch with the Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan, Sharat Sabharwal, who is in contact with the pilot.
