AI pilots’ strike enters 3rd day, 26 more suspended

Taking a tough stand against striking pilots, Air India management has suspended 26 more Pilots yesterday. With this the number of suspended pilots has reached to 36.

With the strike by Air India pilots entering the third day, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh today reaffirmed government's readiness to hold talks with the pilots and hoped that they would follow the High Court order declaring the stir illegal.

He said Justice Dharmadhikari penal report, on integration of workforce of Air India and Indian Airlines including promotions, has already considered the issues raised by the agitating pilots

The pilots have been protesting against rescheduling of Boeing 787 Dreamliner training.

Air India spokesperson told AIR that 2 flights from Delhi to Chicago and Toronto and 3 international flights from Mumbai to New York, Riyadh and Shanghai were cancelled.

He said passengers who have booked their tickets up 14th of this month can prepone or postpone their date of journey without paying any extra charges.
