Air India has paid over 14 crore rupees as interim compensation to families of the victims of last month's plane crash at Mangalore. An Air India spokesperson said in Mumbai today that besides an interim compensation from Air India, the victims' family members and survivors have also received 3.06 crore rupees from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.<br/><br/>The Mangalore-bound Air India Express aircraft from Dubai, with 166 passengers on-board, including six crew members, went down a ravine and burst into flames after the<br/>pilot overshot the runway.<br/><br/>As many as 158 persons were killed, while eight survived the worst air disaster in the country in a decade.
