AI operations resume partially

Air India operations are yet to be normalised today after the pilots called off their 10-day strike. Airline officials said, they had not been taking bookings due to the strike and this had led to the cancellation of about 90 per cent of its flights.Moreover, 60 aircraft of the airlines were grounded. They said the contingency plan, which was put in place for the strike, is still in operation. Some flights will be programmed by the afternoon and gradually the situation will improve.Air India pilots had last night called off their strike following an agreement last evening between the government and the pilots to reinstate sacked and suspended pilots, restore recognition to their union and look into their complaints of irregularities. Former Indian Airlines Pilots have also been demanding pay parity with Air India Pilots and an end to alleged corruption in the Airlines.
