AI management to meet protesting pilots to redress grievances

Air India on Saturday cancelled two flights – one domestic and the other international, with the management calling a meeting with the protesting executive pilots on Monday. The flights were cancelled as the pilots did not report for duty.<br/><br/>Talking to All India radio, Air India Spokesman Jeetendra Bhargav said that the management has asked them to come for a negotiation to sort their grievances.<br/><br/>The national airlines' executive pilots have threatened to go on indefinite mass sick leave to protest against the massive cut in their salaries. Their representative, Captain Bhalla said that salary cuts are not acceptable to them as they amount to 50 to 70 percent when hidden reductions are taken into account.
