AI management meets unions’ representatives

Air India top brass today met representatives of other unions and briefed them on the circumstances that forced them to take stern action against the employees who were responsible for the AIR India strike. 58 employees have been sacked and two major unions derecognized after it.<br/><br/>Management sources said that Air India officials also briefed the union leaders about the Mangalore air crash which claimed 158 lives and the steps taken thereafter, including mitigating the suffering of the next of kin of those who died.<br/><br/>The management said it planned to come out with a turnaround within this month and would hold another round of meeting with the unions, which would also be attended by the newly-appointed independent directors of the Board.
