Ahmedabad Test: England trail by 411 runs

On Day 3 of the first cricket test at Ahmedabad, England were 110 to 7 in the first innings against India, when reports last came in Tim Bresnan on 0 and Matt Prior on 20 were at the crease. The visitors today resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 41 for 3. Earlier, after opting to bat first, hosts India had declared their first innings after compiling a mammoth 521 for 8. Cheteshwar Pujara scored his maiden double century yesterday and remained unbeaten on 206. Opener Virender Sehwag with 117 and Yuvraj Singh with 74 were the other valuable contributors for India. For England, Spinner Graeme Swann had bagged 5 wickets. England, however, got off to a dismal start, as they lost opener Nick Compton, night watchman James Anderson and Jonathan Trott in quick succession yesterday.
