Prime Minister designate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address a public rally in his Maninagar assembly constituency of Ahmedabad city this evening.
The rally has been organized as a mark of thanks giving- to the voters of Maninagar- from where, Narendra Modi was elected to the state assembly thrice.
AIR correspondent reports that Narendra Modi will also address a special session of the Gujarat Assembly tomorrow. It is being organized as a farewell gesture to him.
Mr. Modi is likely to announce his resignation as Gujarat Chief Minister after the assembly session. Our correspondent adds that meeting of Gujarat legislative party of BJP will be held soon after the special session of state Assembly in which name of the new leader will be decided.
According to party sources, Revenue Minister Anandiben Patel is all set to succeed Narendra Modi as the first woman Chief Minister of the state. Swearing in ceremony of new Chief Minister is likely to be held on 22nd May- at Mahatma Mandir- in Gandhingar.
