In Gujarat, Ahmedabad Rural Court has rejected the 7 days police remand of suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt. Court has sent him to judicial cutody after hearing the arguments of both the sides. Bhatt was produced in Ahmedabad rural court by police late this evening.Police has sought 7 days remand of Sanjiv Bhatt, who was arrested from his Ahmedabad residence and taken to Ghatlodia Police station yesterday. According to sources, the police added one more section, 194 of IPC, in the FIR against Bhatt apparently for creating evidence with a view to falsely implicating a person in a case.Earlier, he was booked under 341, 342, 189, 193 and 195 of the IPC following FIR by a Police constable K.D.Pant- for threatening a public servant, fabricating false evidence and wrongful confinement.Wife of the arrested IPS officer Shweta Bhat had earleir wrote to Director General of Police-Gujarat about the danger to his husband's life. However, Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha denied her apprehension.Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that police has raided Sanjiv Bhatt's house twice after his arrest and conducted the search today also. Sanjiv Bhatt had filed an affidavit in Supreme Court alleging complicity in post-Godhra riots by Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Later, he was charge sheeted and suspended by the State Home department for alleged unauthorised absence from duty.
