<span style="color: #222222;">Union Agriculture Ministry has said the locust control operations are underway in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh. It said all the groups of locust swarms are being tracked by teams of the State Agriculture Departments of Rajasthan, Haryana and UP, local administrations and officials of the Central Locust Warning Organization.<br />''<br />''The Ministry said the locust swarm was noticed in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan in the morning of 26th of this month and control teams were deployed to eliminate the locusts. The leftover locusts regrouped and reached Rewari in Haryana last evening where control operations were undertaken  till early  morning today. The leftover locusts again regrouped and the swarm divided into three groups, one of which moved towards Gurugram, and from there to Faridabad and onwards to Uttar Pradesh. Another locust swarm moved towards Dwarka in Delhi, from there to Daulatabad, Gurugram, Faridabad and this swarm has also entered U.P. The third group was seen in Palwal, Haryana and has also moved towards UP. The Agriculture Ministry informed that as of now, no locust swarms are spotted in any city areas.<br />''<br />''It added that more control teams from Rajasthan have been moved to Haryana and UP to help in the locust control operations being carried out in these two states. The locusts keep flying during day time and settle down only after dark in the evening. Ground control teams are constantly tracking them and will undertake major control operations once they settle down. Control teams in U.P. have been ed for this.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Delhi Government has issued an advisory asking all the District Magistrates to remain on high and to coordinate with the district Fire Department personnel to make arrangements for the spray of prescribed pesticides and insecticides. It also advised the District Magistrates  to deploy the adequate staff to make all possible arrangements like Munadi in the villages for guiding the villagers and residents to distract the locusts by way of making high decibel sound through beating of drum, utensils, playing high volume music on music system, firing crackers, burning of Neem leaves, and other similar measures. It  also asked people to keep doors and windows closed, cover outdoor plants with plastic sheets to prevent possible outbreak of Locusts. The advisory said swarms usually fly during  day time and rest during night. Therefore, locusts should not be allowed to rest during night time and night spray of Malathion or Chlorpyrifos is useful. It said  PPE Kit  may be used while spraying.<br />''<br />''Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai also called an emergency meeting to discuss the threat of a potential locust attack in the national capital. He said that a small segment of locusts moving towards Palwal in Haryana has entered the Jasola Bhati area of the Delhi border. He said the authorities have been ed through an advisory issued by the agricultural department of Delhi. South and South West districts have also been kept on high . He added that an advisory on behalf of the agricultural department has also been issued and sent to the DMs, SDMs, MCDs, and all other authorities, on steps to be taken. Mr Rai assured that the government is monitoring the situation very closely. He added the Development Commissioner will be regularly in touch with the officials of the Delhi government and if the movement of the locusts changes in Haryana, they will be fully d and necessary actions may be taken.</span><br />
