Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has appealed the farmers to take benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. <br/><br/>In a message to farmers through All India Radio, Mr Singh said, most state governments have fixed the last date for the crop insurance for the kharif season on 31st of this month. He said, farmers should avail the benefit as early as possible through the nearest bank, agriculture cooperative committee or insurance agents.<br/><br/>Mr Singh said, Government has launched the scheme from this kharif season and farmers will have to pay very less premium on it. He said, premium is 2 per cent for foodgrains, oilseeds and pulses for Kharif crops and 1.5 per cent for Rabi crops.
