Monsoon has set in Karnataka bringing smiles on farmers. <br />''<br />''According to the Agriculture department statistics, Kharif sowing has started in 6.95 lakh hectares , which is around 10 percent of 73 lakh hectare under cultivation. The department says that there is demand for 9.57 lakh metric tonne fertiliser and till date 6.14 lakh metric tonne has been supplied. The demand for seeds is 1.28 lakh quintals and out of which 1.51 lakh quintals is distributed. Under PM Kisan yojana over 51 lakh farmers were provided financial assistance of over 3789 crore rupees in five instalments. Another 48 lakh 84 thousand farmers received 2000 rupees each in 2020-21.</span><br />
