Iran's foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki has said that an agreement on the nuclear fuel proposal will soon be reached, but with the changes that Tehran seeks. According to Iranian channel Press TV, speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, Iranian foreign minister said that Iran has created favourable conditions for such an exchange in the not very distant future. The Iranian foreign minister warned that his country would not accept the timeline proposed in the draft, which would require Iran to export its uranium and wait for up to a year before receiving the enriched fuel. Meanwhile European and US officials have said that Iran must prove to the rest of the world that its nuclear programme is purely for peaceful purposes, even if it agrees to a nuclear-fuel swap.
