A delegation of the Asom Gana Parishad, led by its president Mr Chandra Mohan Patowary and working president Mr Phani Bhushan Choudhury, met the President Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil in New Delhi on Friday and sought her intervention in putting an end to illegal infiltration from Bangladesh to Assam and commencing dialogue with the ULFA as soon as possible. <br/><br/>The delegation also drew the attention of the President to the long-standing demand of six ethnic groups of the State for ST status. <br/><br/>Other issues raised by the delegation are the threat perception from mega dam projects in Arunachal Pradesh and abnormal rise in prices of essential commodities.<br/>
