Agni 5 missile to be introduced next Feb, says DG DRDO

The Director General of DRDO, Mr. V. K. Saraswat has said that Agni five missile which reaches 5000 km target would be introduced next February.

Addressing newsmen on Sunday after inaugurating three new buildings of the DRDO in Avadi near Chennai, he said the testing process of Agni 5 has been completed at high altitudes.

Looking forward to a future of improvised versions of unmanned systems with artificial intelligence, Mr. Saraswat said that advanced mini and micro robots will be used in new designs for surveillance purposes.

Calling for more attention to set up major testing facilities in the Country, Mr. Saraswat said that this would reduce conducting experiments from field to campus. He also underlined the need for improvising technologies used for the manufacture of Arjun tanks.

Earlier Mr. Saraswat a centre inaugurated the centre for evaluation of combat vehicles, a suspension test facility and a CVRDE and BEML Technology centre at Avadi.
