In Karnataka, the Mandya Farmers’ Welfare Committee continued its agitation against release of Cauvery water to Tamilnadu. The State has agreed to release 10,000 cusecs of water everyday to Tamilnadu till 20th this month. The Congress leader and former MP Ambarish took part in the agitation today. Speaking to the gathering, he felt that Karnataka has always agreed to share Cauvery water, but today the situation is so bad that any release of water will create severe hardship for drinking water and agriculture.
