Agitation begins in Telangana Region

In Andhra Pradesh, the non-cooperation agitation is beginning today in Telangana Region of the state demanding the Central Government to introduce bill in Parliament to carve out Telangana state. Several political parties and organizations of Employees, Teachers and workers are taking part in the agitation in response to the call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee. While the Telangana Rastra Samithi, BJP and CPI have announced their support to the agitation, Telugu Desam Party leaders from the region also extended their support to implement it on full scale. These leaders said they would launch their agitation by boycotting the Governor’s address on the first day of the Assembly. There was no official word from Congress party as their members from Telangana region are camping at Delhi seeking their high command to introduce a bill in the ensuing Parliament session. JAC convener M. Kodandaram said employees' organizations in all departments would participate. He also asked people not to buy tickets in Public Transport Buses and refuse payment of electricity bills and other dues to government, including taxes.
