Agitating truck & bus owners lathi charged in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday police lathi charged and lobbed tear gases to control the agitating truck and bus owners of Kargil who were trying to move towards Leh. In the tussle Dy. SP Sonam Dichen and ASI Ghulam Hussain got injured and Four Drivers were also injured.<br/><br/>SP Kargil Ajaz Ahmad Bhat told AIR correspondent Anayat Ali that as per routine Army make contracts with the local transporter and one of the oldest transport company and with whom most of the vehicles were registered has lost the contract to two other new companies. He said that the old company has refused to provide vehicles to the other transport companies as they have not enough vehicles to fulfill the demands.<br/><br/>Mr. Ajaz said that the new companies has made an agreement to hire vehicles from Leh, in this regard the vehicles were trying to march towards Leh in agitation and police tried to stop the agitating vehicles to Maintain Law and Order. He said that, on this stone pelting started in response of which police took action so that Law and order can be maintained. In this regards few of them were arrested and FIR has been logged.
