Agitating Gujjars block highways connecting Jaipur

In Rajasthan, the agitating Gujjars have blocked the Delhi-Jaipur and Agra-Jaipur railway tracks. Hundreds of protestors led by MLA Hem Singh Bhadana have staged a dharna on rail track at Manota near Bandikui, in Dausa district. The police tried to stop the protestors from moving towards the track, but, they resorted to stone pelting. With this, the rail traffic between Jaipur-Delhi and Jaipur-Agra will also be disrupted. The trains on Delhi-Mumbai section were diverted on this route due to blockage in Pilupura, will also be affected. Meanwhile, a bandh was observed in Dausa, Mahuwa and other towns of Dausa district today. The bandh was total in Dausa and Mahuwa while it was partial in other places. At least 12 other districts also witnessed demonstration by Gujjar activists today. Gujjar leader Col. Kirodi Singh Bainsla has again threatened that their agitation will continue till the demand of five per cent reservation is fulfilled. He has been invited by the government to hold talks with the three member committee of Ministers for arriving at any solution on the issue.
