Both the houses of Maharashtra Legislature, which saw uproarious scenes for the first two days of the on-going Winter Session in Nagpur, took up the discussion on the issue of farmers’ plight yesterday. The proceedings of the Legislative Assembly were adjourned twice to pave way for fixation of the modalities of the much awaited discussion.Initiating the discussion, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Eknath Khadse said the farmers all over the state had been doubly hit due to the excessive rainfall and also the prolonged non-seasonal rains and suffering huge losses of standing crops and the horticulture products to a great extent.
