In Uttar Pradesh the Aligarh Muslim University has been closed indefinitely from today after violent clashes between two rival groups of students. University authorities have asked the students to vacate the hostels within 48 hours. Public Relation Officer of the university Rahat Abrar said about 12 students were injured in the clashes and most of them out of danger. He said rivals groups of the students even opened fire and indulged in brick-batting in the university campus last night. The reason for the clashes was a scuffle between some students who had gone to the University Controller of Examinations to point out some irregularities. Elaborate security arrangements are made in and around university campus to maintain peace. No arrest has been made till now against the miscreants. Meanwhile, local administration has asked the university authorities to hire roadways buses to facilitate the students vacating the hostels.
