External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that Africa is a natural partner of India in energy sector. Speaking at the valedictory session of two-day 4th India-Africa Hydrocarbons Conference in New Delhi, Mrs Swaraj said, India and African Nations should forge a commitment to energy security.Raising concern over low oil prices in global markets, Mrs Swaraj said consumers and suppliers look forward towards balanced and transparent markets which would be beneficial to all.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that Africa is a natural partner of India in energy sector. Speaking at the valedictory session of two day 4th India – Africa Hydrocarbons Conference in New Delhi, Mrs Swaraj said, India and African Nations should forge a commitment to energy security both in terms of security of demand and supply. She said, India offers attractive and reliable markets for Africa's energy exports. <br/><br/>Emphasizing on the global partnership between Indian and Africa she said there is need to work together at multilateral forum to address the issues of climate change in a manner that meet development and energy challenges. Raising concern over low oil prices in the global markets, Mr Swaraj said oil prices are dynamic cyclical and consumers or suppliers look forward towards balanced and transparent markets which would be beneficial to all. She said NDA government is committed to provide reliable and affordable energy at reasonable prices which would be sustainable so that energy poverty give ways to energy justice. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan said the Ministry is planning to mount composite delegations from both public and private sector to countries to assess potential for future co-operation.He also announced additional 250 fully funded scholarships for African nationals for technical and professional courses in the Hydrocarbons sector in Indian institutes. The two day conference aimed at giving a renewed thrust to India's engagement with African nations in the hydrocarbon space.
