Afghanistan&apos;s Olympic contingent reaches London <br/>

Afghanistan's Olympic contingent has reached London to participate in the 2012 Olympics Games. Six member Afghan contingent consists of one five men and the only women athlete Tahmina Kohistani who will participate in racing event. Among the other Afghan Olympic athletes Massoud Azizi will participate in racing, Rohulla Nikpah and Nasar Ahmad Bahawi in Taekwondo, Ajmal Faizzada in Judo and Amil Faisal in boxing events. <br/><br/>The President of Afghanistan's National Olympic Committee, Mohammad Zaher Aghber has said that Afghan athletes are fully prepared to participate in the Olympic events. He hoped that like in many other sports events Afghan athletes will medals in London Olympics also. Afghanistan's Olympic journey starts from 1936 Berlin Olympics where it first participated in athletics and hockey events. <br/><br/>Afghanistan won its first Olympic medal in Beijing games when Rohullah Nikpai won a bronze in men's 58 kg Taekwondo event. Nikpai along with other members of Afghan Olympic team will not leave any stone unturned to win medals in London Olympics also. <br/><br/>
