Afghanistan has pulled out of the SAARC Summit in Islamabad scheduled in November this year. <br/><br/>Sources said, Afghanistan has sent a communication to the SAARC Chair Nepal stating that due to increased level of violence and fighting as a result of imposed terrorism on Afghanistan, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani will not be able to attend the Summit. <br/><br/>Earlier, apart from India, Bangladesh and Bhutan have also pulled out of the SAARC Summit. They blamed Pakistan for creating an environment which is not conducive for the successful holding of the meet.<br/><br/>Last night, India had said, it will not take part in view of the continuous cross border terrorism by Pakistan. The External Affairs Ministry said in a statement that New Delhi has conveyed to current SAARC Chair Nepal that increasing cross-border terrorist attacks in the region and growing interference in internal affairs of member states by one country created environment which is not conducive to successful holding of Summit. <br/><br/>Expressing its commitment to regional cooperation, connectivity and contacts, statement said, India believes that these can only go forward in an atmosphere free of terror. India's decision came in the wake of recent Uri terror attack in which 18 jawans were martyred.
