Afghanistan: Car bomb exploded outside Iraqi embassy in Kabul

In Afghanistan, a car bomb exploded outside the Iraqi embassy in Kabul today. Police said the bomb exploded outside the embassy, followed by an attempt by gunmen to enter the building. <br/><br/>They said the attack is still underway and civilians are being evacuated from the area. Police said that the gunmen appeared to have taken cover in the embassy building.There were no immediate reports of casualties. Islamic State has claimed the responsibility of attack.<br/><br/>Last Monday a suicide car bomb killed at least 30 people in a mainly Shia district of Kabul. According to the United Nations, the country has seen at least 1,662 civilian deaths in the first half of the year, with about 20 percent of those in the capital.
