Afghanistan and Australia has constituted joint business council to promote trade and business between the two countries. Australian Trade and Investment Minister Andrew Robb launched the Australian-Afghan Business Council (AABC) in Melbourne on Wednesday.A press release issued by the Australian Embassy in Kabul quoting Trade and Investment Minister said that the Australian-Afghan Business Council is starting from a position of strength.Robb said the AABC builds on the close and long-standing friendship that exists between our two countries and the enterprise that resides in our business communities.Robb said developing stronger trade and investment linkages between our two countries will be mutually beneficial and assist Afghanistan in its pursuit of economic growth and job creation.The establishment of the AABC also reflects the world community's strong ongoing commitment to support Afghanistan into the future, including in the areas of development assistance and security.With economic development so critical to Afghanistan, the AABC may play a key role in fostering trade and investment and business-to-business links between Australia and Afghanistan.The Australian-Afghan Business Council's Kabul Chapter was launched back in May this year.
