Afghanistan: 6 killed as suicide bomber detonates explosive-laden vehicle

In Afghanistan, at least six people were injured in capital Kabul this evening when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden vehicle outside a US military base. Head of Afghanistan's criminal investigation unit Jamil Jumbish said the attacker was driving a minibus laden with explosives when it went off. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack saying a foreign military convoy was the target. Some foreign soldiers may be among the casualties but it was not immediately confirmed by NATO. This is the second such attack outside the military base in recent months. The attack comes only a week after five people and seven militants were killed last week in a multiple coordinated attack on the capital last week.
