President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan is reported to have reached an agreement with MPs to open the new Parliament on Wednesday. He had earlier decided to postpone the opening session for a month. The United Nations mission in Afghanistan had expressed concern over the planned postponement which many MPs had also opposed.
