Afghan President Hamid Karzai is in Washington for a four-day visit that is meant to help mend fences between the US and Afghanistan after several months of tension. He is due to see President Obama on Wednesday. In March, the Obama Administration was using tough words, twisting President Karzai's arm and criticising him publicly. On his part, the Afghan leader accused the West of undermining him even threatned to join the Taliban. US wants to mend fences with a man who is crucial to their strategy in Afghanistan.
