Afghan Parliament has set a deadline for remaining cabinet ministers to be introduced to the house by this Saturday failing which they will go for strike. Speaker of the lower house Mohammad Younus Qanooni said in the house that if government fails to meet the deadline, then they would not debate any bill. He said MPs would attend sessions but would not put any legal instrument on the agenda for discussion. Afghan government led by President Hamid Karzai and the Parliament has been often at odds to each other with the latter rejecting majority of the ministerial nominees twice. Only 14 out of 25 ministers have been approved so far by Parliament and the remaining 11 posts are being manned by acting ministers. A Presidential spokesman reacting to the eadline said this is too short a time to introduce new ministers as President is still looking for competent people to man the remaining ministries.
