In Afghanistan, security forces have regained control of a key district in the troubled Uruzgan province in south of the country. The district was under Taliban control over the past five years. Afghan security forces backed by the NATO-led troops recaptured Gizab district late last evening and arrested four militant's commanders including the shadow district governor Mullah Hikmat. Police commander of Uruzgan-Kandahar highway Matiullah Popal said that Mullah Sadiq, Mohammad Yaqub and Mullah Omar, the top Taliban commanders in Gizab, were also detained. No casualties have been reported during the operation.
